Phrasal verb of the week: Put across - Communicate an idea effectively.
✨Example sentences✨
He always has a hard time putting his feelings across.
How are you going to put your ideas across?
There’s probably a better way to put the message across.
There is a little difference between put something across and get something across. Whereas get across is focused on the message being understood, put across is more focused on the way you craft (design) the message.
How well you put the message across determines whether or not your message gets across.
This is also related to the phrasal verb come across. If you craft your message well, it will come across well. If you don’t take time to craft your message, it might come across as sloppy or thoughtless. Remember that come across as means seem. So the message might seem thoughtless.
