🐡Basics

My name is Anming - yes that’s my real name - and I'm originally from the US. My friends call me Ming. I am a native English speaker and my pronunciation is Standard American, meaning that I don't have a regional accent. My educational background is in psychology and business, and I am TEFL certified. 

 

🦀Teaching Style

Not boring and not formal. Easy-going, open, and conversational. I find free-flowing conversation to be more interesting and helpful for English learners. My students say that conversation lessons feel like they are talking to a friend. I love to use interesting YouTube videos as topics for discussion. 

 

🦑My Weird Life

I have not lived in the US for five years; I have somehow become a digital nomad. I have created hundreds of short lessons on TikTok and I teach English online to adult students all over the world. I have lived in China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Albania, Turkey, Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Guatemala. I am currently based in Vietnam and have no plans to return to the US. I enjoy experiencing different cultures, people-watching, and getting know locals. I get excited about anime, documentaries, podcasts, the gym, all the food, and great conversations. Nice to meet you 🐙
